What is Scicoga?
There are three answers to that question: the long one, the short one and the ridiculously short one.
Ridiculously short answer:
It is an amalgamation of:
SCIence Fiction/Fantasy COmic Books GAming
The Short Answer:
It is anything and everything related to, derived from, and alluding to the fields of Science Fiction, Fantasy, Comic Books, and Gaming.
The Long Answer:
Scicoga is almost a philosophy. It deals with accepting things we do not know, and extrapolating on what answers might be. It deals with looking at the world in new and unusual ways. It also deals with a lot of theories and laws of nature that don't necessarily exist yet. Of course it is also about having fun and excitement, and learning new ways of doing things.
Clarification: Gaming
Gaming is a term that is most often applied to video/computer game playing. That is NOT what we are talking about.
We are talking about games that are played with other people in the same room, using cards, dice, books, tokens, boards, figurines, pencil and paper, and other items. Some of these games are ancient (Chess, Othello, Backgammon, Go...) while others are more recent and commercial (Dungeons and Dragons, Magic: the Gathering, Warhammer...). Whenever we talk about Gaming, this is the kind of Gaming we mean.
